Almost nothing to do!!

After getting the engine out I looked at Gordon to see what needed to be done, surprisingly I found that there was very little to do. I changed the Ohlins rear shock back to the original as the Ohlins was longer and Mike said it was not working as it should. That took me all of 20 minutes, so I decided to remove Mikes personal sponsors stickers off the fairing and affix my own.

The preperation begins

Managed to spend a couple of hours in the garage last night and tonight and have all but got the engine out. I'm looking to get the engine to Slipstream this Friday so Martin can work his magic on it and hopefully get it back to me early March. With the engine out I will give the framework a good degrease and clean, must have Gordon looking his best for his first outing!

Gordon's arrived

After several postponed journeys South due to the weather Mike Edwards made the trip to bring Gordon to his new home for the 2010 season. Mike explained all that I needed to know regarding Gordon, ie: electrics, starting, fuel, oil etc, and has virtually given me a free hand on colour scheme's and decals. But with the following Gordon has I will be keeping the present colour scheme and just add minimal sponsor decals.
Again I must say a huge thank you to Mike and Jenifer for letting me have the opportunity to race Gordon this year, and I aim to enjoy myself to the full.

After speaking to Mike Edwards today we have arranged for Gordon to come this thursday, photos will be posted.

Continious bad weather

As the weather has again taken a turn for the worse, Mike and I have agreed that Gordon should wait till next week before his journey South.

After speaking to Mike yesterday we decided that with the threat of more snow and low tempratures it would be best for Gordon to come down later on in the week.

The garage is finally ready for Gordon!

Well I braved the -4 degree weather today and finally finished preparing the garage, I moved my work bench and all racing related boxes to the rear of the garage to gain a little warmth! Doing this has also opened the area up so I will be able to get all around Gordon if/when he needs attention. Once I get Gordon here the first thing to do is remove the engine and take it to Slipstream Tuning in Sevenoaks, Kent. It is their engine but have kindly let me use it in Gordon for this year. Martin Sweet will remove the Raptor crank with off set crank pin as it was causing too much vibration, he is going to replace it with a standard stroke crank, this will bring the cc from 760 to 720 but hopefully will make the motor more reliable.
