Bad weather

After speaking to Mike yesterday we decided that with the threat of more snow and low tempratures it would be best for Gordon to come down later on in the week.

The garage is finally ready for Gordon!

Well I braved the -4 degree weather today and finally finished preparing the garage, I moved my work bench and all racing related boxes to the rear of the garage to gain a little warmth! Doing this has also opened the area up so I will be able to get all around Gordon if/when he needs attention. Once I get Gordon here the first thing to do is remove the engine and take it to Slipstream Tuning in Sevenoaks, Kent. It is their engine but have kindly let me use it in Gordon for this year. Martin Sweet will remove the Raptor crank with off set crank pin as it was causing too much vibration, he is going to replace it with a standard stroke crank, this will bring the cc from 760 to 720 but hopefully will make the motor more reliable.

The "Man Cave"

Well Im making progress on clearing the garage, I have managed to put all the unsold car boot stuff in the garden shed along with all the gardening tools. All that needs to be done now is move the shelving around and get my workbench to the rear of the garage for warmth. More photos when its done.

Making room for "Gordon"

I set about trying to clear the garage out for the arrival of Gordon in the new year, as you can see the workbench is at the front of the garage and in the winter its bloody cold there. I intend to move the bench down to the far left hand side and move around the shelving, hopefully creating a spacious work area at the rear of the garage where I can keep and work on Gordon with ease.

Engine from Slipstream

Had a chat with Martin Sweet of Slipstream Tuning today regarding the use of their MZ/Yamaha motor for Gordon next year. As Im not a hard rider Martin suggested reducing the cc from 760cc to 720cc by fitting a standard stroke crank,(more reliability), he will strip and refresh the engine so all being well it should last the season with a possible strip down midway through the year. So all that needs to be done now is to find out when "Gordon" will be coming to see his new dad?
